Grand Theatre Producties K. Kvarnström & Co Fragile  De tegenwoordig in Stockholm gevestigde Finse choreograaf Kenneth Kvarnström is, sinds het begin van zijn carrière in 1987, uitgegroeid tot een internationaal fenomeen. Zijn werk wordt meestal omschreven als krachtig, dynamisch, sensueel en compromisloos. Hij heeft een feilloos gevoel voor stijl en precisie. In nauwe samenwerking met zijn licht- en decorontwerpers streeft hij naar een totale danservaring. Daarbij weet hij altijd voortreffelijke dansers aan zich te binden. Ook de nieuwe voorstelling 'Fragile' draait het om poëtische expressie, krachtige dans en de kleine dingen die het doen. Kvarnström & Co Fragile  Powerful, dynamic, sensual and uncompromising are among the often mentioned superlatives when describing the choreographer Kenneth Kvarnström's style. His work is about emotional flowes, atmospheres: short stories cut and rejoined. He does not create epic narratives or give the audience explanations, instead, the need for interpretations are all up to the viewer and his or her experiences and own emotions.KK is a man with an unfailing sense of style and precision. Working in close co-operation with a light- and setdesigner, his goals are in creting a total dance experience. In attempting to reach this goal he has always taken great pride in having the possibility to work with the best dancers of his choice; dancers whose technical skills and fearless personalities have inspired the overall energy of his creations. KK's choreographic career started in 1987. After finishing his dance studies in Sweden he started to work on his own dancepieces. The goal for his Stockholm based dance company K. Kvarnström & Co. was to present one major dancework every year. This creative drive has resulted in more than twenty works, some of which have been presented by his own companuy, others by the Helsinki City Theater Dance Company as well as by the Finnish National Ballet. He has also created works for television. In 'Fragile' it's all about poetic expression, powerful dancing and small wonderful things that make life worth living. The set design is minimal, maybe just twenty postcards. Five dancers with different personalities... The beauty of pure choreography but also precious moments for the subconscious.
