‘Envelopes’ is een dansconcert dat het thema bloedverwantschap aangrijpt voor een spel tussen beweging en geluid. Keren Levi (choreografe) en Tom Parkinson (muzikant) nodigen zus Reut Levi en tweelingbroer Alex Parkinson uit om een interdisciplinaire voorstelling te maken: een ode aan de relatie tussen muziek, dans en bloed.
De voorstelling is opgebouwd uit drie korte stukken (envelopes), waarin ieder deel een ander perspectief biedt op wat genetisch is, wat biografisch is en wat een voorstelling is. Levi en Parkinson bekijken hun 10 jaar oude creatieve geschiedenis opnieuw, zonder de eer van de familie te verloochenen.

Keren Levi (1972, Israel) maakt sinds 1997 interdisciplinaire dansvoorstellingen, waaronder Territory (2004/NL waarmee ze de BNG-prijs won), Faceless (2006/NL in samenwerking met Tammuz Binshtock), Couple-Like (2006/NL/BE in samenwerking met Ugo Dehaes), Out Of Service (2007/HR) en The Prize Piece (2007/NL). Volgend seizoen reist ze door Europa met Big Mouth (2009/IL) in samenwerking met Oren Laor en Niv Sheinfeld). Daarnaast geeft ze les in dans en choreografie op de Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (AHK) en andere opleidingen en gezelschappen in Europa.

Bij het Grand Theatre maakt Keren Levi eerder o.a. The Prieze Piece (2007), Couple-like (2006), Faceless (2006) en Territory (hiermee won ze de BNGprijs in 2006).

Tom Parkinson (1975, Groot Brittanie) werkt sinds tien jaar als componist en muzikant aan verschillende interdisciplinaire projecten. Bijvoorbeeld voor televisie, film en radio en verschillende dans- en theatervoorstellingen. Zijn werk gaat van installaties en 'performance art' tot vooruitstrevende popmuziek met bands als Summer Holiday en White Collar Weapons.

Reut Levi (1984, Israel) is aeen danser and dansdocent, gevestigd in Israel.
Alex Parkinson (1975, UK) is een drummer, zanger, filmmaker and songwriter gevestigd in London.

Envelopes is a danceconcert that plays with the bonds between movement and sound within the theme of siblinghood. Choregrapher Keren Levi and musician Tom Parkinson invite their siblings (Levi’s younger sister, Reut, and Parkinson’s identical twin brother, Alex) into an interdisciplinary show that celebrates the kinship ties of blood, music and dance. Envelopes is an evening organised into three short pieces (Envelope I,II,III), each proposing a different view on the interrelation between genetics, biography and performance. Levi and Parkinson revisit their ten year creative history whilst keeping it within the family, unfolding their story one envelope at a time. Since 1997, 

Keren Levi (1972, Israel) has built an international profile as a choreographer with a body of work performed in over 20 countries including Territory which won the BNG-prize and Couple-Like which is in its fourth season of touring across Europe. Her professional dancing career began in 1991 with The Kibbutz Dance Company (Israel) and she has subsequently danced with Batsheva Ensemble (Israel) Philippe Blanchard (Sweden), Sanna Myllylahti (Finland/NL), Leine & Roebana (NL), Christine Gaigge (Austria) and Club Guy & Roni (NL) among others. Levi also teaches dance and choreography in a number of festivals, institutions and companies across Europe.

Tom Parkinson (1975, UK) has developed a practice as an independent composer and musician working primarily in an interdisciplinary context. This has involved music for television, film and radio and the stage including award winning theatre and dance productions, many of which have featured live music and performance. His work has spanned installational and performance art to forward thinking pop music with the bands Summer Holiday and White Collar Weapons.
