Als slotstuk van de avond presenteert de Groninger musicus, improvisator en componist Gerry Arling De Tijd 1.1 een live-remix van de oorspronkelijke compositie. Be-wonder The music composition 'De Tijd' / 'Time' (1981) of Louis Andriessen has inspired Betsy Torenbos to create a ritual; an encounter between cultures, between past and present, old and young. A stone pendulum, an elderly woman, young girls, a dancer, and video intermingle to become contemporary dance theatre. It is Torenbos' intention to perform and document this piece in a different country every year. Each year, the old woman and the young girls will be from the specific country but the dancer will remain the same over time. For the performances in The Netherlands a special program is made up of which 'De Tijd - Rites of Passage' is the central piece. In some cases there is a personal introduction of the composer Louis Andriessen. As concluding piece Gerry Arling, a musician and composer from Groningen, presents 'De Tijd 1.1' a live-remix of the original composition. He plays with the central theme of the piece (time) using loops and samples. This part of the program is produced by Prime.
